What are Government Grants you ask? Government grants are basically free money for those that qualify. There are many requirements for deciding who qualifies and for what amount of help they qualify to receive. Government grants are funded with money that has been set aside by the government for this purpose. There is a certain amount of money set aside each year by the government. There are grants available through the federal and state government. State grants are for that state only. State grants can be obtained for many reasons by anyone in that state. US Government Grants are given to businesses, agencies, groups, organizations and individuals for a specific purpose. There are many reasons to qualify, but a specific purpose has to be listed on the application for the grant to be considered. This specific purpose may qualify for one or more grant, if so, then multiple applications have to be filed. For example, a request for a well to be dug on private property could be filed with the state and federal grant board. If the federal grant is given then the state has more money to give to another applicant. There are so many grants available each year that it is recommended that a general search is run, before applying, to find all grants available for this specific purpose. Certain government grants are available only to women or small businesses. There are grants for groups and organizations, rural home owners and low income families. What are government grants? Government grants are a way for the federal or state government to help many people pay for many things. Applications and cover sheets are always accepted. Documented proof of the specific purpose or need is required for most grants. Residents of states hit with natural disasters can apply for government grants to help them get back on their feet. Anyone can apply; if the specific purpose is deemed acceptable then the grant is usually given to the applicant.
